Turning the grapes into jelly! The recipe called for 5 cups of juice (one packet of pectin, 6 cups of sugar, and 7 8oz jars), this basket was roughly 6 cups.

Grapes
I cut back the grapes today, while we were harvesting, but it’s probably too early, and I definitely went too crazy with it.
Found a good reference for pruning next year

Basically, each year you choose one fruiting cane to use as the new feeder for the next year. Looks like pruning should be done in the C winter when the leaves are gone, and finished up in the spring.
Grapes and tomatoes and potatoes and hops
Harvested and cut back grapes (incorrectly) today. I also cut some tomato batches to hang since the weather is starting to turn. We pulled the remaining potatoes – the big orange pot was the best provider. (It was the widest)
Also, p harvested some hops today.
Canning g beans
That was one full drawer, 9 pint jars, 20 min processing. Yum. Green beans.
Still giving
Good haul today- tomatoes are still looking ok- we might have some cool weather coming up, so I’ll keep an eye on them. (I’m pulling the tomatoes early to ripen inside, anything orange).
The jalapeños never got very big, but they look plump and healthy. I’ll need to remember to pull them before a cold snap.
Look at this enormous marigold! It’s from whatever seeds I sprinkled last year at the base of the rocks.
Squash are getting powdery mildew. Happens every year. Delicata look established, which is good. Prolly have another week or so of summer squash.
The okra is still going!
Peas, kale, and favas are getting started.
Looks like it’s almost grape time- we’re going to make jelly this year.
Salsa Again
Made a full batch (6 quart jars and 3 pint) of zesty salsa with the ripened tomatoes.
Here’s the quantity of tomatoes that went in
Sunny days…
We’re getting a couple more sunny days and most things have perked up a bit. I’m letting a lot of the runners go to bean.
A bit more
Also the kale and peas are starting to come up?
Slowing harvest
Tomatoes aren’t slowing down
But everything else is
but do have some blossom and rot on the tomatoes at the base of the rocks. And the plum tomatoes look mineral starved despite fertilizing.
Here are some shots
And my pretty new dahlia that I got surprise gifted while picking up a spider plant on but nothing
