We’ve still been getting lots of greens- a and the peas are starting to pick up a lot. The onion and garlic are looking great, and finally getting some squash

Things
I have been doing, and harvesting some things in the garden, but haven’t been good about documenting, partially because there weather is horrid, and partially because the world is worse.
We’re right smack dab in the middle of junuary (it’s 55 right now, and pouring) and there have been protests and police action for over a week, in addition to everything still being locked down for the pandemic.
So, it’s hard to get excited about some snap peas and garlic scapes.
Salads
Besides asparagus, the main thing we’ve been getting out of the garden is salad greens.
The corn salad and spinach are doing great, kale and chard are coming in, and I’ve been thinning out the onions and beet greens.
Yesterday i found a couple of tiny peas!
Made me so happy.
Spruce tip day!
It was a little early for the lower Branches, but we picked and picked
Gonna hurt tomorrow
Tore up the lower beds and added in some compost. Hopefully i can get even more squash out of it this year.
All the buckets are sprouting!
(Corn salad, kale, spinach)
P picked the first asparaguses (asparagi?) to grill tonight.
Transplanted some more stuff
Still stuff out there
Picked kale, arugula, and tiny beets today.
Clean up
Spent the afternoon cleaning up leaves and dead plants. P is working on the fence because we have a big planting project coming up in the upper yard.
He pulled the apple tree a little while back, because we realized we would never win the fight against pests.
The arugula and roots are going strong, the kale is hanging in there, and the asparagus still has green (I’m supposed to cut it back when it turns brown.)
Things are slowing
Things are definitely pointing towards fall. We’ve had a LOT of rain and the tomatoes just didn’t do well. I made a big soup today with what I could salvage
The patty pan by the driveway is still a monster though.
A bit more
It’s been wet. Everything is looking a little sad
Wine
Harvested grapes for a gallon of juice
