We did a lot of work today. Weeding, transplanting, planting, p digging out the septic…
I transplanted the tomatoes and peppers with potting soil. They did perk up a little after I added better soil and fertilizer, hopefully this gets them back on track.
Planted squashes everywhere (mainly in the slope and lower bed). Moved barbeque rosemary and globe artichokes. Fertilized many things, blueberries, onion beds, lower garlic bed, Rhodies and hydrangea.

I FINALLY caught the little $#%s eating my pea starts. They dug a full trench across both sides.
P suggested trying to screen it in, so I cut and poked pieces through to hopefully give the new seeds a little protection.
Little %#^£!#%s griped at me the whole time.
I am not a fan.
I’m not happy with the way the tomato and pepper starts have done in the seed starter mix. Next year I should use potting soil only, or a mix. I repotted some today, and added potting soil to the rest.
Squash 
Squash are going crazy, too early I worry.
I decided to acquire more 4″ pots the fun way, and got a bunch of plant starts – especially groundcovers to try.
I got a couple more rosemaries and an oregano for the herb pots.
Planted some peas in west C, and some arygula in upper c. P got most of the other beds ready for 60 degree soil.
Roots and greens are sprouting well.
We have a few asparagus spikes poking through the soil- not as many as I’d hope, but a couple are quite thick.
The hops are already going crazy, p pulled the extra bits off today.
Raspberries are starting to bloom.
It’s been quite dry and warm here the last few weeks- so I watered today and a couple of days ago.

update 4/15: I’ve transplanted a few, and added potting soil to the remainder. Next year use potting soil from the start- I think things struggled with the seed starter.
Planted kale and Swiss chard in West C, after tilling in the cover crop and adding compost. I just sort of sprinkled the seeds around.
Planted root crops together in upper c. It might be a mess, but I plan to thin things down as I go. Carrots, rutabaga, beets, and radishes. Covered the first set with some loose soil (1/2 deep) and just sort of sprinkled the rest in.

Well, I have a bunch of seeds to plant… But they sat in the mailbox for a week of freezing. … So I hope they are ok.
It’s chilly but sunny, and we put some onions in the ground. P tilled and put compost down. I put onions into south a and west d.
I got my hands on some onion starts (labeled “transplants”) at the grange today. Hopefully I’ll be able to get them planted this weekend.
