I think I have royally failed at growing most seedling this year. I don’t know if it’s bad soil, too many flies, or too much water, or all of that. I took some time to repot everything today to address those things- but it might be moot. Squash and okra look good, though. I have some of those in the greenhouse now.
Here are some more progress shots
Started okra and squash seeds, and replanted bell peppers that haven’t come up. Moved the other seedlings off of heat.
I’m very excited to use the new greenhouse!!
Added some more pepper seeds the next day
Planted spinach, New Zealand spinach, arugula, and cilantro in bags and pots on the spa pad. Planted carrots and beets in south c. Planted carrots and kale in south b with the favas, and planted kale with the finally emerging peas.
And here’s an update on the sprouts
Started seeds today- except squash and okra.
Just cause I never remember, here’s how I made the paper pots with one piece of tape
And here’s how the houseplants are looking after a refresh today
Did some clean up and put season starters on the lettuces
Beans are gone, I’ll pull them out soon. Fava are coming up and there are a few pea flowers ? little harvest of winter squash and carrots and tomatillos today. Planted garlic.
Good haul today- tomatoes are still looking ok- we might have some cool weather coming up, so I’ll keep an eye on them. (I’m pulling the tomatoes early to ripen inside, anything orange).
The jalapeños never got very big, but they look plump and healthy. I’ll need to remember to pull them before a cold snap.
Look at this enormous marigold! It’s from whatever seeds I sprinkled last year at the base of the rocks.
Squash are getting powdery mildew. Happens every year. Delicata look established, which is good. Prolly have another week or so of summer squash.
The okra is still going!
Peas, kale, and favas are getting started.
Looks like it’s almost grape time- we’re going to make jelly this year.
We’re getting a couple more sunny days and most things have perked up a bit. I’m letting a lot of the runners go to bean.
