We did a little work today. I fertilized the squash, picked raspberries and some of the onions. There are a couple of okra going, and one lone plum!

Hot as hell
We’re in the midst of a record heat wave- it was 100 yesterday, 104 today, and 111 (!!) tomorrow. The tomatoes, potatoes, and peppers are VERY PLEASED. I just wish they had fruit to ripen!
Potato flower!
And we’re still in the strawberries.
Swirled an okra and planted some herbs
Harvest!
Artichoke, zucchini, onions, garlic scapes, snap peas
And flowers on a pepper!
Sunday hot
We spent a bit of time weeding and doing stuff yesterday.
Some progress shots. I buried more potato, and planted some more yellow beans to replace the ones the robins destroyed (grumble). We’re already getting strawberries , and there is green fruit on one of the beaver lodge plants!
It’s hot this week, so hopefully some of the plants get happier.
Aphids
The spider mites are enjoying be okra season starters too much, so I’m pulling it.
Put some tomatoes out
Planted 2 tomatillos and a nova and sungold that were getting too big for the greenhouse.
Removed the season starters from the squash (that said “transplant after threat of frost has passed”)
Replanted some green beans cause birds are bastards.
Potatoes and more
Earlier this week I upplanted most of the seedlings- today I finished putting everything into the greenhouses.
I got more runner beans, and put them in the soil, along with some new Romano bush beans.
We got a bunch of yukon gold seed potatoes from ourneighbor, so those went into containers today as well.
Things are looking pretty good. We’ve had some rain and cool which the new plants have liked. The favas are up to the top on the gate now, and I think the carrots and beets are finally coming up.
Irritating Susanville
The susanville garlic did absolutely nothing. That part of the bed is empty. I’m reconsidering the wisdom of ordering from Territorial Seed.
